Donnie Eugene Eddy, age 63 of Marine, IL, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. He was born on Friday, January 12, 1951, in Rector, AR, the son of David and Marlas (nee Jackson) Eddy. On Sunday, October 19, 1969, he married Bonnie Louise Eddy nee Parkerson who died on August 21, 2013. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and United Transportation Union. Mr. Eddy grew up in Washington Park. He graduated from E. St. Louis High School in 1969 and began working with the railroad. He and his wife lived in Washington Park until 1976 when they moved to Marine, IL. From 1981-1993, he took a break from the railroad and worked in home improvements. In 1993, he again worked with the railroad, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a little league, football and baseball coach. His greatest pride were his grandchildren and he enjoyed watching their sporting events. Survivors include: Son – Donnie D. (Sandi) Eddy, Highland, IL Daughter – April D. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. She was born and raised in Golden Eagle, IL; graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Brussels, IL. She later graduated from Memorial Hospital, Springfield, IL, School of Nursing. She and her husband were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brussels, IL. After marriage they lived in Chicago, IL. She worked for Corn Products, Argo, IL, as a occupational registered nurse, for 35 years until her retirement. She and her husband retired at Lake Catatoga, Carlinville, IL. They moved to Highland, IL, in 2010.She enjoyed cooking, sewing, golfing, caring for people and her job as a registered nurse. She had lived in Hamel, Staunton, Worden and again in Hamel. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan and enjoyed cooking, quilting and reading the newspaper. Kenneth A. Lienemann, age 56 of Highland, IL, died Monday, December 08, 2014, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. He was born March 13, 1958, in Highland, IL, the son of Henry C. and Augusta L. (nee Langwisch) Lienemann, Jr.. He was a member of Highland Sportsman Club; Madison County Fair Association; Helvetia Sharpshooters; Loyal Order of Moose # 561- Edwardsville, International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers #660 . Kenneth was born in Highland; grew up in Edwardsville; where his father was Police Chief. He graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1976. While in High School he worked a Sheppard’s Office Supplies. After high school, he worked at B-Line, where he worked for 30 years and retired due to disability in 2006. He enjoyed Bocce Ball; maintaining the Expo Hall and selling tickets for events at the fairground. He had been active with the St. Jacob Jaycees and Lion’s Club. He enjoyed stock car racing. He helped his brother in-law with car #48. He followed the Jimmy Miller band, Whiskey Dixon band, Well Hungarians band and other local groups. A group of friends the “Losers”, had an annual lawn party LUAU and other gatherings thought out the year. He was “Santa” on the square since mid 1980’s for 15 to 20 years. Kynion who passed away on Saturday, March 03, 2012. She was a member of Saint Jacob United Church of Christ, St. Jacob, IL, American Legion Auxiliary-Marine, IL. Mrs. Kynion was born in Chaffee, MO, attended county school, and worked at the Chaffee Shoe Factory. After her marriage, she lived in Chaffee, MO for two years, then moved to Granite City. He was born July 05, 1924, in Pinckneyville, IL, the son of Allen and Lillian (nee Duncan) Harlan McGuire. On February 09, 1945, he married Eldonna G. Kendrick who passed away on January 29, 2005. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #877-Granite City; Fraternal Order of Eagles #1126-Granite City; Former member of VFW. Mr. Harlan was born in Pinckneyville, IL. After graduation, he joined the Navy. He served as a tail machine gunner in WWII and was awarded a purple heart after being shot down in the Phillipines. He was married to Eldonna for 60 years. He worked as a carpenter for over 40 years, retiring as a master carpenter from Granite City School District. Upon his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed life in the country in Steelville, MO. He enjoyed the outdoors and his numerous dogs. Survivors include : Son – James R. On Saturday, February 28, 1981, he married Annabelle S. “Ann” Hediger (nee Probst) who survives. He was a member of Operating Engineer Local 520, Granite City, IL (55 years member). James was born and raised at Clinton County, IL. He served with the US Army. He worked as an operating engineer for many years. He helped build Carlyle Lake. He retired in the mid 1990’s. He and his wife would do annual winters in Florida. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed gardening and outside activities. He was a hard worker, proud of his achievements and loved his wife very much. She was born September 22, 1921, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Albert L. and Regina H. (nee Bircher) Wildhaber. On December 12, 1946, she married Leroy V. Ammann who passed away on May 11, 1974. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. She was also a member of Helvetia Sharpshooters Society. Marian was born on a farm Northwest of Highland, where Silver Lake is now. Her family moved East of Marine and then on Steinkoening School Road. Her mother died when she was 11. She had worked at the Heel Factory in Marine and St. Louis, then Moulton Bartley Shoe Factory in Highland. After her marriage she lived 3 miles North of Pierron, working the grain and livestock farm with her husband, until she moved to Highlandin 1974, following her husband’s death. She lived briefly in Hawaii, then moved to Highland and then to Troy (Edwardsville) in 2014. She worked for over 20 years at Scott Air Force Base as a Budget Analysis for Trans Comm. Reker (nee Koelz) who survives in Highland. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #360 – Collinsville, IL; VFW Post #5694 – Highland, IL; Highland Sportsman’s Club. Edwin was born at St. Jacob; grew up there. He worked on the family farm. He entered the service with United States Army from 9/2/1942 to 10/14/1945 with duties in European; African; Middle Eastern Theater. He earned the Silver Battle Star in the Battle of Monte Cassino. After the service, he worked as an Electrician, at a cleaners, grocery store and Wick’s Organ. He became a plumber and worked for Essenpreis Plumbing and Houseman Supply. He retired from Houseman Supply. He became Illinois License Plumbing Inspector and worked as a contractor for the City of Highland as a Plumbing Inspector and retired at age 88. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1949 with duty in the South Pacific and served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1949 to 1964, having lived in Alabama, New York, New Jersey, and Tennessee. He was employed by the U.S. Post Office as a mailman from 1965 to 1980 in La Mirada, California. He retired in 1980 and moved to Highland. He was a part-time painter. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. Fr. Paul Kala, Pastor of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Greenville, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Masses; Father Paul’s Ghana Project (STYDEC International); Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
