She was born on Monday, December 26, 1932, in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (nee Ryker) Viles. Mrs. Watkins was born at Springfield, MO. She had spent most of her life living in Grayslake (Lake County), Illinois.She had worked in the State’s Attorney’s Office at Lake County, IL for 20 years.She retired to Mesa, Arizona. Survivors include: Daughter – Elaine (Billy) Essary, New Douglas, IL Son – Samuel H. Hilton, Saint Louis, MO Daughter – Evelyn A. Dan Henry Dauderman, age 75 of Alhambra, IL, died Saturday, August 09, 2014, at his home in Alhambra, IL. He was born on Tuesday, April 11, 1939, in Saint Louis, MO, the son of Henry Gustave and Alice Vandalia (nee Alexander) Dauderman. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Alhambra, IL, Monticello Railway Museum (Life-time Member). Mr. Dauderman was born in St. Louis, MO; in 1953, the family moved to the family farm north of Alhambra, IL. He continued to operate the grain farm and raise Black Angus cattle until his death. He was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ having served on the Church Council and various committees.Dan loved trains. He was a conductor and passed the FRA test every year. An active member of the Monticello Railway Museum, Monticello, IL, where he volunteered and also served as Conductor for over 34 years. He was a part-time Engineer with a short line railroad. He loved the farm and the outdoors. Camping in the Ozarks, his dog, Robby (an Australian Sheppard). Dan loved antique cars and tractors. Family and friends were always a major concern. William H. “Bill” Saylors, age 56 of Alhambra, IL, died Monday, August 11, 2014, at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL. He was born April 28, 1958, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Charles and Pauline (nee Gannon) Saylors. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Alhambra, IL . He was also a member of Skyriders Motor Club; Misfits Motorcycle Club; Bootleggers Motorcycle Club. Bill was born at Vandalia; grew up in Greenville, Sorento area. He worked as a Bartender at New Douglas (Skylows, now Dog House). He worked cutting steel; he was an over the road truck driver for Riechmann Trucking and Bowa Trucking. He did hazmat cleanup for Dynamic Environmental Inc. of Mt. Olive. He enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing, BMW, and Honda Shadow. He enjoyed sitting out on the front porch, drinking coffee, listening to nature and watching the humming birds fly. He was also a Green Bay Packer Football Fan. Christian who passed away in 2001. She was a member of Coosa Valley Chapter of Order of Eastern Star in Southside, GA. Betty was born and grew up in DuQuoin area. She lived in Alabama from the early 1980′s, and after her husband’s death returned to DuQuoin, IL . She moved to Faith Countryside Homes in Highland, 6 years ago. Bob was born and grew up in Highland. He was a 1967 graduate of Highland High School. He started working at Wick Organ Co. right after graduation and worked there until they closed, in the Wood Working Shop. He enjoyed bowling and was a part of several Bowling Leagues, serving as Treasurer and Secretary. He also liked pitching horseshoes, playing cards, working jig saw puzzles, and bingo. Larry B. Hickey, age 77 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL. He was born November 25, 1936, in Burlington, KY, the son of Joseph B. and Eva D. (nee Marksberry) Hickey. On April 22, 1961, he married Diane Lee Swarthout who survives. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Member of “Ozark Silver Swallows” (a retirement group) – former member of Highland Optimist Club – Airline Pilots Association. Larry was born in Burlington, KY. At age 7 he moved to Erlanger, KY where he grew up and graduated from Lloyd High School. After graduation he worked briefly for the National Security Agency in Washington, DC, then worked for Boone County Aviation at the Greater Cincinnati Airport. In August 1963 he began flying for Ozark Airlines based in St. Louis. In 1972 he moved to the Highland area. He also began working as a check pilot for Ozark Airlines and TWA. He went on to become an FAA certified check pilot until his retirement in 1996. After retirement he worked in Flight Safety at Lambert Airport training new pilot candidates in the flight simulator, until 2002. His license certifications include DC-3, Martin-404, FA-27, FH-227, DC-9, and MD-80. He enjoyed golf, gardening, building grandfather clocks, visiting the Korte Rec Center, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was born on Monday, April 07, 1930, in Grantfork, IL, the son of Albert L. and Frieda M. (nee Schuerman) Niggli. On Saturday, October 25, 2003, he married Shirley M. Niggli (nee Peters) who survives. He was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #2479 – Highland; Highland Sportman’s Club; Life member of Highland Pistol & Rifle Club; former member of Loyal Order of Eagles, Woodriver, IL. Mr. Niggli was born North of Grantfork; grew up there; operated dairy and grain farm; quit farming in 1980. He drove school bus in the early 1960′s and 1970′s. He drove truck for Horn Trucking Company and others; retiring in 1990′s. He spent Winters in Arizona for number of years; was active bowler and enjoyed golfing. She worked for Chastain’s Nursing Home at Highland for over 10 years. She was a stay at home mom for several years. She worked for The Clean Uniform Company in Highland for over 25 years. He was a member of Saint Jacob United Church of Christ, St. Jacob, IL; Bussong-Mersinger – American Legion Post 665-St. Jacob, IL (Past Commander); Masonic Lodge #355, A.F. & A.M. (Masons)-Marine, IL. Mr. Noeltner was born at Highland, IL; grew up in Saint Jacob, IL and graduated from Saint Jacob High School in 1952. He earned a degree in Political Science from SIU-E in 1962. He started as a Field Auditor for the Internal Revenue Service and retired as a Special Agent for them in November 1990. He coached his son and grandchildren in Khoury League baseball and also coached with the American Legion team in Highland for may years. In his community, Glenn had been Chairman of the Homecoming Parade for a number of years and served on Zoning Board . He played Slow-pitch Softball for many years, enjoyed playing golf (shot a hole-in-one at Oak Brook) and was a Chicago Cubs Baseball fan. He was born on Tuesday, August 21, 1928, in Lebanon, IL, the son of Henry F. and Josephine L. (nee Voges) Carrillon. On Wednesday, December 14, 1949, he married Jane D. Carrillon (nee Luehm) who survives. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Local 525 Teamsters; Local 600 Teamsters and a former member of Woodmen of the World Camp #105. Mr. Carrillon was born in Lebanon, IL, and moved to Highland at age nine. He worked at Highland Box Board, Highland Ready Mix, Bellm Freight, and The Anderson Motor Company in St. Louis. He retired at age 61 on 7/3/1989, driving millions of miles accident free. He repaired clocks in his retirement, collected antiques, and always had a nice yard. He enjoyed his dogs, walking and visiting with neighbors and his red and white 1984 Chevy Silverado. M. Elaine (nee Tice) Suhre passed away August 31, 2014 after a brief illness at the age of 76. Born July 7, 1938 in Dahlgren, IL, daughter of James Harlan and Mary Florentine (nee Goffinett) Tice, she is survived by her husband of 50 years Kenneth George Suhre of Alhambra IL, her daughter Kimberly Ellen (nee Suhre) Meagher of New Douglas, IL, her son Jonathan William Suhre of Pacific, MO, grand-daughters Aislinn Paige (nee Meagher) Barbarito of Knoxville, TN and Brandi Lauryn Suhre of Columbia, MO and a great grand-daughter Aurora Sophia Barbarito, also of Knoxville, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter Mary Delores Suhre and infant son Paul James Suhre. A devout Catholic and Pro-Life Activist, Mrs. Suhre was a progressive woman with an adventurous spirit. The daughter of a working class family from Belleville, IL she moved to Chicago and joined the airline industry with British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) in the early 1960’s as a reservationist. She traveled to Europe and saw the sights in Paris and Rome. In 1963 she married and took some time off from her career to raise her children. In the early 1970’s she was exposed to the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori igniting a passion for education and knowledge that lasted the rest of her life. She achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Education from SIUE in 1979 and earned her Association Montessori International diploma. She served as a Montessori Directress for twenty-two years at The Children’s House and for the Kansas City Missouri Public School District where she served as a Teacher Resource during the integration of the Montessori philosophy into the public school curriculum. A voracious reader she inspired the love of books in her children and nephews. She was also a talented artist especially in the pastel medium and leaves a legacy of several beautiful works. Her interest in family and history led her to perform extensive genealogical research on the Potter and Haynes families. Visitation will be Friday, September 6th from 4 – 8 pm at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL. Visitation will continue Saturday morning at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL. She was born on Saturday, April 30, 1921, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Leo Albert and Elizabeth (nee Linenfelser) Seifried. On October 30, 1940, she married Ralph C. Moss at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, who passed away on April 6, 1956. On January 7, 1963, she married Quentin M. Nungesser in Edwardsville, IL, who passed away on February 15, 1992. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. She was also a former member-St. Anne Altar Society of St. Paul Church; Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post 5694-Past President; Highland Area Christian Women’s Club; and Weinheimer Senior Citizens’ Club. Mrs. Nungesser was born at Highland, IL and grew up there. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1938. She attended Marinello Beautician School in St. Louis, MO. For many years, she had operated a beauty shop out of her home. From 1956 to 1969 she was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Thomas Barker at his practice in Highland. She continued to be a a beautician for a number of years. Mrs. Nungesser enjoyed playing cards (Bridge and Pinchole), traveling, quilting, and dancing at area ballrooms. She was a volunteer with the Special Olympics and enjoyed being a server at the Senior Citizens’ Center.
