Harry Kreutzberg, age 78 of Marine, IL, died Friday, January 02, 2015, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL. He was born December 16, 1936, in Highland, IL, the son of Louis and Edna Ann (nee Kolm) Kreutzberg. On November 18, 1958, he married Carol Irma Gilomen who passed away on June 28, 2008. He was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine. He was also a member of Marine Cemetery Board of Directors; Masonic Lodge #355 A.F & A. M. Marine; Scottish Rites Bodies, Valley of Southern IL -Belleville, IL ; Ainad Temple Shriners- A.A.O.N.O.M.S.- East St. Louis, IL ; Silver Lake Shrine Club-Highland, IL; Marine Vol. Fire Dept. (36 years-President and Trustee for 10 yrs.); Madison County Farm Bureau; Hill Billy Clan #39 . Harry was born in Highland and grew up on a farm west of Marine, IL. He graduated Edwardsville high School in 1954. He served with the US Army in Korea from 1956 to 1958. He came home to be a Livestock and grain farmer, and also worked for the State of IL, Asphalt Company, Alton Box Board in Alton for 5 years, Joseph Pohl Garage in Marine for 15 years as a mechanic, and Mi-Jack Products for 18 years. One of his favorite pastimes was squirrel hunting. Survivors include : Daughter – Linda M. Southard, Mascoutah, IL Grandchild – Caroline Jean Kreutzberg, Marine, IL Grandchild – Josalyn Kait Kelly, Worden, IL Great Grandchild – Kayleigh Morgan Schneider, Greenville, IL Great Grandchild – Lucas Matthew Schneider, Greenville, IL He was preceded in death by : Father – Louis —- Kreutzberg died 5/23/1971 Mother – Edna A. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 06, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, on Wednesday, January 07, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, January 07, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Philip H. Kershner officiating. Interment will be at Marine Cemetery in Marine, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Marine Masonic Lodge #355 or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
