Jana Kasten, age 62 of Edwardsville, IL, died Thursday, January 01, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. She was born March 22, 1952, in Troy, IL, the daughter of Fremont H. and Florence A. (nee Kueker) Klueter. On October 27, 2012, she married William “Bill” J. Kasten who survives. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Jana was a 1970 graduate of Triad High School and received a BS in Education from SIUE. She lived briefly in Hawaii, then moved to Highland and then to Troy (Edwardsville) in 2014. She worked for over 20 years at Scott Air Force Base as a Budget Analysis for Trans Comm. She was the church organist at Hope Lutheran Church and gave private piano lessons. She enjoyed gardening, bike riding and loved her grandchildren. Survivors include : Husband – William “Bill” J. Ashford, Highland, IL Grandchild – Reed Ashford, Centralia, IL Grandchild – Eilee O.M. Ashford, Centralia, IL Grandchild – Lillian M. Andrews, Saint Jacob, IL Brother – Russell (Linda) Klueter, Worden, IL She was preceded in death by : Father – Fremont H. Klueter Mother – Florence A. Klueter nee Kueker Brother – Dale Klueter Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 04, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, on Monday, January 05, 2015, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 05, 2015, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. Leonard Laetsch officiating. Interment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Siteman Cancer Center or St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
