Carol A. Beichel, age 63 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJC) in Saint Louis, MO. She was born on Friday, October 19, 1951, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Lester E. and Agnes I. (nee Jacober) Kirstein. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. She was also a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary to Post 5694 – Highland, IL. Carol was born at Highland; grew up in Highland. She graduated from St. Paul High School; she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from SIUE. She taught Special Education. She worked for Basler Electric; Department of Motor Vehicles in Edwardsville. She worked at St. Louis as a Loan Specialist for the last 20 years. She loved to cooking, playing computer games, Sci-Fi videos and spending time with her children. She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by her children. (Linda) Staley, Belleville, IL Brother In-law – Thomas Mersinger, Chamblee, GA Sister In-law – Beverly Kirstein, North Hills, CA She was preceded in death by: Father – Lester E. Kirstein died 9/28/1975 Mother – Agnes I. Kirstein nee Jacober died 3/17/2006 Sister – Mary A. Mersinger died 10/29/1989 Sister – Lucy E. Staley died 12/2/1982 Brother – John L. Kirstein died 11/13/2013 Brother In-law – James H. Alberternst died 6/20/2013 Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, on Friday, October 31, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 31, 2014, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Father Scott A. Snider, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children; To The Family.
