Judith L. “Judy” Wise, age 72 of Highland, IL, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born January 02, 1944, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Wassel and Elizabeth (nee Brown) Tarasuik. Judy was born in Highland; grew up in Millersburg. She was a graduate of Greenville High School in 1962. She then attended college receiving her Associate’s of Art Degree in Medical Records. She worked for Theodore Little, MD (1971 – 1972). She worked for St. Joseph Hospital for 23 years as a Medical Transcriptionist and as Director of the Medical Record Department. After working at St. Joseph Hospital, she worked for Hospice of Southern Illinois in Belleville for four years. She loved to travel. Judy had been to every continent except South America and Antarctica. She enjoyed spending time with her family and hanging out with her friends. She was gifted with the ability to turn “Trash into Treasure” and was known as the Leader of the Lake House Girls. Survivors include: Mother – Elizabeth Tarasuik nee Brown, Highland, IL Daughter – Tammy L. (Daryl) Riechmann, nee Wise, Highland, IL Grandchild – Taylor I. Riechmann, Highland, IL Grandchild – Lexy E. Riechmann, Highland, IL Brother – James Tarasuik, Millersburg, IL Ex-Husband – Jerry Wise, Highland, IL She was preceded in death by : Father – Wassel Tarasuik (died 1961) Grandmother – Isabella Brown (died 1980) Grandfather – Thomas Brown (died 1990) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL., with Rev. Will VerDuin, Associate Pastor of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Fund @ Siteman Cancer Center; Highland Choral Parents Assoc. (Middle School Chorus).
