Julia Marie White, age 57 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, February 07, 2015, East of Madison/Clinton Counnty line on St.Rose Rd. as the result of an auto accident. She was born March 24, 1957, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Mario Joseph and Ruth Mildred (nee Leonard) Cirio Sr. On February 14, 1982 she married Michael G. White. She grew up in University City, MO; earned a nursing degree from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing; later received a BSN in nursing. She has worked at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center in Clayton, MO, since earning her degree. She has worked in the ICU, Cancer Critical Care, Emergency Room, many areas. Julia loved to bike and had “ridden across Nebraska” several times with her best friend, Karen. She also enjoyed swimming, Yoga, aerobics, and working out at the Korte Rec Center. She attended many nursing conventions; liked to do counted cross-stitch; photography; and was a “crazy cat lady”. She and Michael had traveled to Russia, China, Africa, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, Western Europe. On their trips, they would visit orphanages and provide supplies and take residents shopping. Mr. and Mrs. White died in an automobile accident on Saturday, February 7, 2015 east of Highland, IL. Survivors include : Daughter – Susan M. (Shirley) Cirio, Jr., Ballwin, MO Best Friend – Karen L. Draper, Pocahontas, IL She was preceded in death by : Father – Mario Joseph Cirio, Sr. (Died 9/7/13) Mother – Ruth Mildred Cirio, nee Leonard (Died 9/26/12) Husband – Michael G. White (Died 2/7/15) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the funeral home. Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, Rev. Matthew R. Embry officiating.
