James D. Hediger, age 77 of Highland, IL, died Monday, December 22, 2014, at Deceased’s Residence in Highland, IL. He was born on Sunday, August 29, 1937, in Carlyle, IL, the son of Charles and Ethel (nee Hetzel) Hediger. On Saturday, February 28, 1981, he married Annabelle S. “Ann” Hediger (nee Probst) who survives. He was a member of Operating Engineer Local 520, Granite City, IL (55 years member). James was born and raised at Clinton County, IL. He served with the US Army. He worked as an operating engineer for many years. He helped build Carlyle Lake. He retired in the mid 1990’s. He and his wife would do annual winters in Florida. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed gardening and outside activities. He was a hard worker, proud of his achievements and loved his wife very much. (Eric) Brower, Moro, IL Step Son – Bradley (Nikki) Sidwell, Brownstown, IL Step Son – Gregory (Debbie) Sidwell, Brownstown, IL Step Daughter – Jill Wright, Vandalia, IL Step Daughter – Chantel (Bill) Houba, Edwardsville, IL Step Daughter – Andrea (Jim) Reavis, Centralia, IL Numerous – Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren Brother – Eugene (Jo Ann) Hediger, Shattuc, IL He was preceded in death by: Father – Charles Hediger Mother – Ethel Hediger (nee Hetzel) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, IL. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, IL.
