Fern Mary Buchheim, age 102 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born on Thursday, June 27, 1912, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (nee Gloss) Gall. On Thursday, June 8, 1933, she married Irwin Joseph Buchheim who passed away on Sunday, November 29, 1981. Mrs. Buchheim was born and reared in Highland, IL. She worked at Moulton Bartley Shoe Factory in Highland. After marriage, she and her husband lived at St. Louis, MO, Chicago, IL, and from 1948 to 1982 they lived at Jacksonville, IL. She then moved back to Highland. She enjoyed gardening and was known for her beautiful rose gardens. She was a self educated person in the financial markets. Survivors include: Son – Dwight H. Buchheim (Died 11/29/1981) Son – Wayne J. Buchheim (died 5/6/2008), Jefferson City, MO Brother – Lester A. Gall (Died 4/28/1991) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Fr. Paul Kala, Parochial Administrator of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Greenville, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.
